Last week my wife and I decided to visit White Horse Winery in Hammonton, pick up our allotment, and enjoy a glass of wine with a charcuterie board. We took advantage of their special: a glass of Rose wine for $5. Their charcuterie board included the following:a couple types of cheese, assorted meats, grapes, pear slices, bread, and three different dipping sauces. See photo below.

Stop at Bagliani’s Market
We can’t visit a winery in Hammonton (and there are a few really good ones there) without stopping at Bagliani’s Market. Located on the Main Street in town, it is a hub of Italian pastas, cheeses, meats, and fresh produce.
After our relaxing visit at White Horse Winery, we decided to pick up some food at the great Italian Market, Bagliani’s, since we were already nearby. They have some of the best meats and cheeses around. They also have some great fresh veggies, and even some terrific fish, pork, and steaks. We chose a couple of nice looking fresh caught cod fillets that were frozen on the ship, some fresh broccoli rabe, some pastas, sauce (or gravy, as some would say), and some fresh Cole Slaw for our dinner (plus a few other staples).
Mission Spirits Distillery
Our third stop of the day was Mission Spirits. Located in Millville, this wonderful, upscale distillery is a perfect spot to escape the madness of our world for an hour or two. It is a gorgeous venue. I tried to capture its ambience, but the two pictures below do not do it justice.
My drink of choice was their Classic Mojito (pictured below). It was delicious and inspired me to take some home.
My wife chose their Rosemary’s Pear-Heretic’s Vanilla infused Rum, pear, rosemary, simple syrup, and lemon, smoked. A wonderful concoction that our server lit and placed a globe over it, creating the smoked drink. This was a truly unique drink that was as tasty as it was entertaining to watch the transformation from smoky to clear, while retaining that smoky component to the flavor. Below left is how it looked during the smoking process and on the right is how it looked afterwards.
We really enjoyed our drinks and our visit here and decided to take home a four pack of their Classic Mojitos (pictured below).
Capping off the Day
As we finished our wonderful dinner of baked cod, broccoli rabe, and baked potato, paired with a bottle of Hawk Haven Reserve Chardonnay, we felt tired, but thankful, as we reflected on our active, but rewarding day. I must say, we crammed a lot of fun, good fun, and drinks into our day! Life is good!
